As long as they stay away and don't make nuisance to you, it's just fine. But people behind fake Facebook profile mostly become nuisance. They not only leave filthy comments on your status and photos (if you did not take care of restricting to that for Friend's only... :) ), but also they could be possible spammers. Or people who spread malware and other lurking things on the web. You don't have to be Einstein to find them, as they leave some clues which speak about the identity. 1) Gender is the first sign.

So, you don't know that sexy chick who added you on FB, don't wait a second and reject it. Because 97% of fake profiles have female gender. So chances are there that sexy blonde is either your friend having a prank on you, or a spammer with specific Geo-targeting.

2) Hundreds or may be thousands of friends.

It has been estimated that a fake Facebook profile has 5.5 more friends that a real profile. On an average a legitimate user have about 130 friends, while the same number for a faker goes beyond 700. So, don't get fooled by having a look at the size of her or his friend list.

3) Celebrity, Politician or Sportsman.

Fake Profiles mostly don't have a general and legitimate looking profile picture; and they hide behind George Bush, Salman Khan or Aishwarya Rai. The catch is that they are also able to attract more and more people by doing so.

4) Modus Operandi

Is your dirtiest and most stupid is also liked by some XYZ and sometimes accompanied with a GREAT, GOOD or blah blah comment. This is how most of the fakers do. They get your trust by liking you and then attacking you. It's always a good idea to make your post visible to only your friend's. Facebook by default makes is visible to all Facebook users, which you should change...!

5) Either you don't have a cellphone camera, or another pair of clothes.

The fake Facebook profile's picture is same throughout a longer duration of period. It might changed if they have put a celebrity or sports person picture; but if it is general photo the next change will either a rose, a teddy bear or damn I LOVE YOU symbol.

6) They have some 34 tags in each of their photo upload.

If you upload a picture on FB, how many people would you tag. 2-3 or 5, in fact Facebook policy states that you should only tag one if he/she is there in the picture. But if you see the faker account they have each and every corner given a tag. On an average a fake Facebook profile have some 34 tags in each photo they uploads. And the simple reason is, more people tagged spreads them more and more. Because who ever is tagged on that photo; the post will be on their wall/timeline.

7) The most welcoming people on the earth :)

The fake accounts are always public and their security and privacy settings are default only. They want to be seen more and more; as simple as that.

8) They might paste links all the day but no real status updates.

This bunch of people are least active when it comes to real social networking. When you see their profile they either have posts of tagging or being tagged, link with tailor-made text and nothing else. Also you would see that they are making some 100 new friends on daily basis. The real status thing is mostly missing on their profile.

9) Lots of HI and WHO ARE YOU...? on their wall/timeline.

As these fake Facebook profile guys add so many friends on daily basis you will quiet possibly see a lot of HI on their wall. If you are lucky enough you might able to see, DO I KNOW YOU or WHO ARE YOU from their new friends.

10) They want to drive you somewhere or click something.

These fakers add a lots of links on their public profile and want you to drive to a particular site or sites. Well, the same tactics are being used by legitimate webmasters but they do it on Facebook Pages and not on profile. Often these guys also want you to click open a zip file or exe file on a link, beware as that could be a malware or tracking cookie....!!!
